Deloitte is recruiting on behalf of the Distributed Renewable Energy Enhancement Facility Incorporated (DREEF LLC), a specialized project development facility established by InfraCredit in partnership with the World Bank and in collaboration with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) alongside other development partners.
DREEF is designed to eliminate operational and financial barriers in developing Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) projects. The facility operates an institutional model aimed at accelerating access to long-term local currency capital while supporting Renewable Energy Service Companies (RESCos) toward operational maturity.
Job Description
DREEF LLC is seeking an experienced Technical Analyst to support the development, structuring, and execution of distributed renewable energy (DRE) projects, particularly mini-grids for off-grid and under-grid electrification.
The successful candidate will provide technical expertise across project design, feasibility studies, due diligence processes, financial modelling alignment, and stakeholder engagement to ensure projects meet regulatory and lender bankability standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and integrate Lender Technical Due Diligence Criteria into DREEF’s standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Collaborate closely with InfraCredit’s technical counterpart to ensure alignment on lender requirements and outputs.
- Design DRE projects, including:
- Geospatial site assessments
- Demand modelling
- Productive Use of Energy (PUE) integration
- Distribution network planning
- Generation system design
- Financial modelling in line with industry best practices
- Conduct technical feasibility studies and project assessments.
- Analyse operational data from supported DRE projects to evaluate performance and identify improvement areas.
- Provide technical support for procurement structuring and contracting processes.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.
- Support compliance documentation for regulatory and investor approvals.
- Engage with developers, co-investors, government entities, and project stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Energy Systems, or related technical discipline
- Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (advantageous)
- 3–5 years of technical/engineering experience in distributed renewable energy projects
- Strong exposure to mini-grid development for off-grid and under-grid electrification
Key Competencies
- Deep understanding of power systems design and DRE project engineering
- Experience in technical due diligence and feasibility validation
- Proficiency in tools such as HOMER, PVSyst, and Helioscope
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian technical standards (NERC, SONCAP, REA)
- Ability to prepare BoQs, conduct load assessments, sizing models, and power flow studies
- Experience working with DFIs, commercial lenders, and ensuring project bankability
- Strong analytical, risk assessment, and QA/QC oversight skills
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills
