Job Description

The Residence Steward S1 will provide day-to-day operational and hospitality support within the official residence. This role focuses on maintaining high service standards, supporting events, and ensuring the residence operates efficiently while creating a welcoming environment for guests and officials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support daily operations of the residence and assist with event coordination when required
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of entertainment and common areas
  • Ensure pantry, refrigerators, and storage areas are consistently stocked
  • Manage inventory of household items such as cutlery, glassware, and china
  • Conduct regular stock checks, including beverage inventory
  • Inspect equipment daily and report faults promptly
  • Collaborate with the Chef on menu planning and service requirements
  • Assist with table setting and food & beverage service during events
  • Coordinate with additional stewards when necessary
  • Support setup and breakdown of event spaces (e.g., buffets, barbecues)
  • Follow environmental sustainability practices within the residence

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Minimum of BA/BSc/HND qualification

Experience:

  • At least 2–3 years of relevant work experience

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong command of written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of food and beverage service standards
  • Familiarity with food and wine pairing
  • Experience in hospitality, events management, or diplomatic environments is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • High level of discretion and professionalism
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Attention to detail

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to work evenings and occasional weekends
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office
