Job Description

Mitiget Assurance and Technology Services Limited is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cybersecurity Officer (NYSC) to support its Information Security team in Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) functions.

This role offers serving NYSC Corps Members the opportunity to gain practical experience in cybersecurity governance, compliance monitoring, risk assessment, audit support, policy development, and the implementation of internationally recognized security standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating information security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Support compliance activities related to ISO 27001 and other recognized cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Maintain cybersecurity documentation, including risk registers, asset registers, and compliance records.
  • Assist with internal and external audit exercises by gathering evidence and tracking remediation activities.
  • Participate in cybersecurity risk assessments and risk treatment initiatives.
  • Prepare compliance reports, dashboards, and management updates.
  • Support cybersecurity awareness campaigns and staff training programmes.
  • Monitor compliance with organizational information security policies and controls.
  • Assist in vendor security assessments and third-party risk management activities.
  • Support vulnerability management, incident documentation, and other security governance processes.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants should possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Must be a currently serving NYSC Corps Member.
  • Strong documentation, report writing, and communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity, governance, risk management, and compliance principles.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, audit procedures, and information security policies will be an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

Required Knowledge

Candidates should have a basic understanding of:

  • Vulnerability Management
  • Security Incident Management
  • Identity and Access Management
  • Network Security Fundamentals
  • Data Protection and Privacy
  • Security Awareness Programmes
  • Risk Assessment and Risk Management

Added Advantage

Candidates with any of the following will have an added advantage:

  • Knowledge of ISO 27001, ISO 22301, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), CIS Controls, or similar security frameworks.
  • Professional certifications or training such as:
    • ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity (CC)
    • ISO 27001 Foundation
    • CompTIA Security+
    • Google Cybersecurity Certificate
    • Microsoft Security Certifications
  • Experience supporting compliance documentation, audit processes, risk registers, ticketing systems, or cybersecurity tools.
