Job Description
Prestigious Consulting Group is recruiting a motivated and detail-oriented Food & Beverage Intern to join its Product Development and Stakeholder Engagement team. This remote internship provides practical experience in food innovation, functional beverage development, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder coordination.
The successful candidate will contribute to product formulation, laboratory testing, quality assurance processes, documentation, and project coordination while working alongside experienced professionals in the food and beverage industry.
Key Responsibilities
Product Development & Quality Support
- Assist in formulating and testing functional beverages and food products.
- Support product trials, ingredient measurements, and batch documentation.
- Participate in shelf-life studies, sensory evaluations, and packaging assessments.
- Maintain formulation records and update technical documentation.
- Prepare Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and production records.
- Monitor inventory levels and support raw material traceability.
- Assist in identifying and resolving formulation or production challenges under supervision.
Regulatory & Documentation
- Support the preparation of documentation required for NAFDAC and SON product registrations.
- Review product labels to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain organized technical reports and product development documentation.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Attend stakeholder meetings and prepare meeting minutes and action plans.
- Assist in developing presentations, project reports, and progress updates.
- Coordinate communications with manufacturers, research institutions, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Support planning and coordination for audits, inspections, meetings, and site visits.
Design & Communication
- Create presentation materials, product labels, infographics, and visual communication assets using Canva or similar tools.
- Ensure all communication materials align with company branding and quality standards.
- Develop simple visuals that communicate technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- HND or Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following or related disciplines:
- Food Science and Technology
- Food Technology
- Nutrition and Dietetics
- Biochemistry
- Microbiology
- Chemistry
- Agricultural Science
- Food Engineering
- Previous SIWES, internship, laboratory, or food manufacturing experience is an added advantage.
- Basic knowledge of food product development, food safety, and quality assurance principles.
- Familiarity with NAFDAC, SON, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, or other food regulatory standards is desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience using Canva, Adobe Express, or similar design software is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Creative thinking, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
