Job Description
Majeurs Holdings Limited is seeking a talented and creative Production Intern (Design) to join its production team in Lagos. This internship is ideal for candidates with practical experience in furniture design who are eager to gain hands-on exposure to furniture manufacturing and product development.
The successful candidate will assist in creating production-ready furniture designs, preparing technical documentation, and collaborating with the production team to ensure products meet quality and manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Create 2D drawings, 3D models, and CAD designs for furniture products such as sofas, beds, chairs, tables, and other custom pieces.
- Prepare technical, production, and assembly drawings for manufacturing processes.
- Review, revise, and update existing design files based on production requirements.
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs), cutting lists, and material specifications.
- Participate in factory inspections, site measurements, and production follow-up activities.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and meet quality standards.
- Support prototype development, product testing, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
- Gain practical experience in furniture assembly techniques, machining processes, and quality assurance standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- Degree or professional certification in:
- Product Design
- Furniture Design
- Industrial Design
- Mechanical Engineering
- Production Engineering
- Or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as:
- AutoCAD
- SolidWorks
- SketchUp
- Or similar design applications.
- Previous experience designing furniture intended for manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of furniture construction, technical drawings, measurements, and production processes.
- A portfolio demonstrating previous furniture design projects is mandatory.
