Job Description
Green Africa Airways Limited is inviting applications for its 2026 Graduate Internship Program for the position of IT Infrastructure Support Intern.
The intern will support the management, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of the organisation’s IT infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud-based systems. The role provides an opportunity to gain practical exposure to networking, cloud infrastructure, DevOps, cybersecurity, automation, and systems administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the administration and maintenance of on-premises and cloud infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
- Support the configuration and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines used for application deployment.
- Monitor system performance, availability, uptime, and security.
- Assist with responding to infrastructure incidents, outages, and technical issues.
- Automate repetitive infrastructure and administrative tasks using scripting tools.
- Support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives using platforms such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Assist with system upgrades, software patches, and backups.
- Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Support the implementation of security best practices, including access control and vulnerability management.
- Provide technical assistance for internal systems and infrastructure-related issues.
Qualifications & Requirements
- HND or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Equivalent relevant experience may also be considered.
- Basic knowledge of computer networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPNs.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix system administration.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Basic understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD and version control.
- Familiarity with Git and platforms such as GitHub or GitLab.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or similar container orchestration platforms.
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Basic scripting skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Understanding of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Awareness of cybersecurity and security best practices within cloud and infrastructure environments.
