Job Description
Hec Recruit is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Pharmacy Trainee for a full-time position in Victoria Island, Lagos.
This opportunity is designed for recent pharmacy graduates who want to gain practical experience in a retail and clinical pharmacy environment under the supervision of licensed pharmacists. The successful candidate will support medication dispensing, inventory management, customer service, pharmaceutical record-keeping, and daily pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed pharmacists with the accurate dispensing of prescription and over-the-counter medications under appropriate supervision.
- Support patients with information on medication use, dosage, and possible side effects within the scope of the role.
- Receive, sort, organise, and store pharmaceutical products.
- Assist with inventory management, including checking deliveries, monitoring expiry dates, and updating stock records.
- Maintain accurate dispensing and sales records using pharmacy management software.
- Help maintain a clean, organised pharmacy environment that complies with applicable NAFDAC and other regulatory requirements.
- Assist with medication compounding, reconstitution, and packaging when required and authorised.
- Respond professionally to customer enquiries and refer clinical questions or concerns to the supervising pharmacist.
- Participate in training programmes and rotations assigned by the supervising pharmacist.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- A B.Pharm, PharmD, or OND in Pharmacy from a recognised institution, as stated in the original advert.
- Completion of NYSC where applicable. Candidates awaiting posting or who have recently completed NYSC are welcome to apply.
- Zero to one year of relevant experience is preferred, although fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Good knowledge of medicines, dosage forms, and basic pharmaceutical care.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A customer-focused attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work under the supervision of licensed pharmacists.
- Computer literacy.
