Job Description
Rainoil is seeking a competent and detail-oriented Account Executive to join its finance team in Lagos. The successful candidate will support core accounting functions such as financial reporting, bank reconciliations, assets management, and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including revenue, expenses, assets, and liabilities
- Reconcile general ledger and balance sheet accounts
- Validate transactions and assess their accounting impact
- Monitor accounts payable/receivable, particularly from depots and commercial clients
- Track and document all fixed assets for accurate valuation and records
- Ensure accurate monthly and annual account closings
- Handle journal entries and prepare financial statements and reports
- Address invoicing discrepancies and resolve accounting issues
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Remit statutory deductions like PAYE and pension contributions
- Maintain organized and retrievable financial document archives
- Assist in reviewing internal control processes and suggest improvements
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Financial Accounts
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 3 years experience in accounting, treasury, or finance roles within a similar organization
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Professional certifications such as ICAN or ACCA are an added advantage
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
