Job Description
FairMoney is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join its Finance team. This role is crucial in supporting financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency within the organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly management reports
- Post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial statements
- Analyze and explain financial variances
Taxation & Compliance:
- Ensure proper deduction and remittance of PAYE, VAT, WHT, and pension
- Handle monthly and annual tax filings within deadlines
Finance Operations:
- Manage cash flow planning and financial obligations
- Ensure surplus funds are properly allocated for investment
Audit & Year-End Activities:
- Support year-end closing processes
- Assist with statutory audits
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in audit or financial services
- Professional certification (ICAN or ACCA) is required
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good teamwork and communication skills
