Job Description

Northwest Petroleum and Gas Company seeks to hire an experienced and detail-oriented Management Accounts Officer to join its finance team. The role is designed to provide timely financial reports, models, and insights that support effective decision-making and organizational performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out daily reconciliation of sales reports with bank account statements.
  • Perform bank reconciliations on a regular and timely basis.
  • Manage intercompany accounts and reconciliations periodically.
  • Record financial entries and transactions accurately in the general ledger.
  • Work with Accounts Payable to ensure expenses are properly accrued and captured.
  • Collect data inputs from Heads of Departments for annual budgets.
  • Provide management with timely and relevant financial information for business decisions.
  • Manage the budget and forecast processes.
  • Assist in preparing consolidated group financial statements.
  • Prepare departmental budget variance analyses.
  • Compile weekly sales reports.
  • Support external auditors during statutory audits.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum of a B.Sc. degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fields.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent).
  • 2–5 years post-qualification experience (experience in the downstream oil sector is an advantage).
  • Strong knowledge of bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and financial accounting.
  • Experience in budgeting, cost accounting, consolidation, and performance reporting.
  • High accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Team player with strong collaborative abilities.
