Job Description
Ascentech Services Limited is recruiting an Assistant Testing Engineer to support electrical testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and documentation activities involving electrical systems and equipment.
The role is suitable for an early-career electrical engineering professional with basic knowledge of electrical testing and commissioning and a willingness to work on-site.
Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Testing Engineer will:
- Assist with testing of HV, MV, and LV electrical systems.
- Support testing of transformers, relays, CT/PTs, switchgear, motors, generators, UPS systems, and battery chargers.
- Assist with troubleshooting control panels, MCCs, motors, generators, and distribution boards.
- Operate electrical testing equipment, including Megger, Omicron, and Primary Injection Test Kits, under appropriate supervision.
- Support electrical commissioning activities on project sites.
- Prepare test reports and commissioning documentation.
- Record and document testing results accurately.
- Assist with identifying and resolving electrical system faults.
- Follow relevant safety procedures and technical requirements during testing activities.
- Work on-site and be available for extended working hours or shifts when required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- HND or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 0–2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Basic knowledge of electrical testing and commissioning.
- Understanding of electrical systems and equipment.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation abilities.
- Willingness to work on-site and adapt to project requirements.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an engineering team.
