Job Description
Petroexcel Technology Services is seeking a Business Development Trainee to join its team in Nigeria.
This opportunity is targeted at graduates of Petroleum Engineering or Petroleum Studies who are interested in developing careers spanning business development, government relations, commercial analysis, and the oil and gas industry.
The successful candidate will support market research, regulatory engagement, commercial evaluations, business opportunity identification, and coordination with internal technical and corporate teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with government authorities and the Ministry of Petroleum Resources regarding industry developments and future exploration activities.
- Provide support for government relations, regulatory liaison, and stakeholder coordination.
- Assist with project costing, budgeting, and commercial evaluations related to exploration and development activities.
- Conduct research on the Nigerian oil and gas market and identify potential business opportunities.
- Develop presentations, proposals, reports, and briefing materials for management and government meetings.
- Track developments in petroleum-sector policies, regulations, licensing activities, and exploration opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with technical, finance, legal, and operations teams.
- Provide general business development and commercial support as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
Candidates should possess the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or Petroleum Studies — mandatory.
- Open to fresh graduates and candidates with 1–3 years of relevant experience.
- Good knowledge of the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
- Strong communication, analytical, and interpersonal abilities.
- Genuine interest in government liaison, business development, costing, and budgeting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teams from different professional disciplines.
