Job Description

Owens & Xley Consults is seeking a Customer Service Representative to join its client’s retail team. The ideal candidate will ensure customers receive excellent service and maintain satisfaction throughout their shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Warmly greet customers and provide prompt assistance.
  • Listen attentively to customer needs and offer suitable recommendations.
  • Upsell and suggest alternative products when necessary.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns professionally.
  • Manage bulk or special orders and ensure timely delivery.
  • Communicate customer orders accurately to the production team.
  • Ensure products are properly weighed, labeled, and packaged.
  • Maintain attractive product displays and well-stocked counters.
  • Operate cash register/POS systems efficiently and process payments.
  • Issue receipts and follow up on pending payments.
  • Coordinate with team members (cashiers, butchers, delivery personnel) for smooth store operations.
  • Participate in store promotions and assist with daily opening and closing routines.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • OND/HND/B.Sc. in any relevant discipline.
  • 2–3 years of proven experience in customer service, preferably in a food retail environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive, customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
