We are seeking a Data Analyst based in Akure, Ondo State, to support the implementation and monitoring of digital agricultural systems. The role involves collecting, managing, and analyzing data to generate insights, while also supporting field-level activities to improve farm productivity and sustainability.
Job Description
Manage datasets collected by field officers through MergData.
Conduct data quality checks (high-level and in-depth analysis).
Oversee annual surveys, including farmer registration, farm profiling, farm inspection, and training attendance.
Manage GPS mapping and transfer of shape files to the central database.
Perform polygon and deforestation analysis using GIS software.
Ensure geolocation information and GPS data accuracy for all plots.
Verify and update maps to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Follow up with field officers on data quality issues.
Create and manage trackers and dashboards for GMR surveys.
Qualifications & Requirements
B.Sc. Degree or HND in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or any Social Science-related discipline.
Minimum of 2 years post-NYSC experience.
Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, SPSS, SAS, STATA, GIS, Power BI, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Knowledge of database design and data management.
Proficiency in GIS software, GPS equipment, and remote sensing technologies.
Basic knowledge of agriculture, especially cocoa farm management or agroforestry, is an advantage.
Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders and work collaboratively.
