Job Description
Nestlé Nigeria is recruiting for the position of Field Sales Manager. The successful candidate will oversee sales planning, product merchandising, and distribution in their assigned territory, ensuring achievement of sales, profit, and volume objectives.
They will be responsible for training, coaching, and managing Distributor Sales Teams, maintaining product visibility, and ensuring adherence to Nestlé’s corporate principles and sales guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure product availability, visibility, and accessibility across all key outlets in assigned territories.
- Develop and implement route and journey plans for distributors in line with territory sales objectives.
- Coach, motivate, and develop Distributor Sales Teams through regular field accompaniment and training.
- Communicate merchandising priorities and sales cycle objectives to all field teams.
- Provide timely and accurate reports on market dynamics, demand forecasts, and competitor activities.
- Monitor distributor orders and manage out-of-stock situations effectively.
- Execute Business Sales Operations (BSO) objectives and ensure compliance with Nestlé’s Picture-of-Success standards.
- Coordinate Distributor Operations Review processes.
- Ensure full compliance with Nestlé’s Code of Conduct, WHO code, and safety policies.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any relevant field.
- 2–4 years of experience in Field Sales within the FMCG industry.
- Strong knowledge of the food and beverage market, distributor channels, and retail best practices.
- Basic understanding of Integrated Business Planning.
- Proven leadership, influencing, and people management skills.
- High integrity, strong work ethic, and self-motivation.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work flexibly, take initiative, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
