Job Description
The Head, Capital Projects Delivery (HCPD) will provide leadership in planning and executing capital project portfolios aligned with Egbin Power’s strategic objectives. The role involves managing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective resource utilization, driving continuous improvement in project delivery, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction for capital project portfolios across multiple functions.
- Lead project teams, ensuring accountability and achievement of project milestones.
- Oversee the entire project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, deployment, and closure.
- Manage multifunctional projects while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Develop and oversee business cases, budgets, execution strategies, and performance metrics.
- Communicate project updates and results to stakeholders, executive leadership, and the CEO.
- Ensure risk identification, mitigation, and resolution throughout project portfolios.
- Coach, mentor, and manage project staff, including performance reviews and staff development.
- Champion process improvement and ensure compliance with ISO standards (9001:2015, 14001:2015 & 45001:2018).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (Engineering preferred).
- 5+ years of project management experience handling complex projects.
- 4+ years in a management role within a cross-functional business environment.
- 3+ years with project maturation processes from business case to lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with MS Project or similar tools is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in delivering results on time and within budget.
- Experience in utilities, power, or industrial environments is an added advantage.
