About Confederation of African Football (CAF)

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) was founded in 1957 by Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, and South Africa. As the governing body of African football, CAF manages competitions, provides technical and administrative training, and promotes football development across the continent. CAF works closely with FIFA to coordinate tournaments such as the World Cup, Youth and Women’s Competitions, and Olympic Football Tournaments.

Job Description

CAF is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the role of National Teams Officer. The role involves assisting in the management of national team competitions, supporting tournament operations, and ensuring effective communication with national associations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply competitions’ management policies and regulations
  • Communicate with national associations regarding national teams’ competition organization
  • Support the National Teams Manager in all aspects of competitions
  • Participate in inspection visits to host countries when required
  • Assist in planning match schedules, match operations, and post-match activities
  • Prepare reports, circular letters, and post-event debriefs
  • Follow up on qualifiers of national team competitions
  • Support workshops and committee meetings organization
  • Review and ensure alignment of competition regulations
  • Manage CAF’s Competitions Software (CMS)
  • Assist in the training and management of match officials

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Sports Management (Event Management Certificate is an advantage)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in football or sports event management
  • Excellent knowledge of competition management, match operations, and tournament coordination
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Ability to thrive in a multicultural, high-pressure environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English and French (Arabic and/or Portuguese is an asset)
  • Proficiency in IT tools and CAF online platforms
  • Passion for professional football events
