Job Description
Qatar Airways is seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Senior People Safety & Health Officer in its Lagos, Nigeria station.
The successful candidate will:
- Champion health and safety across Qatar Airways Group operations in Lagos.
- Ensure compliance with local and international occupational health and safety (OHS) laws.
- Implement and monitor the Qatar Airways OHS Manual and policies.
- Track, investigate, and report staff/customer health and safety incidents.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections in compliance with ISO 45001 standards.
- Develop, implement, and review emergency procedures and safety action plans.
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of safety practices.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants must possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 5 years of job-related experience in health and safety.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent.
- ISO 45001 auditing qualification and other required local OHS certifications.
- Strong knowledge of local and international OHS regulations and best practices.
- Excellent investigative, conflict resolution, and data analysis skills.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written) with strong report-writing ability.
- Additional proficiency in French or Arabic is highly desirable.
- Project management and planning expertise.
