Job Description
Vagan Oil and Gas is seeking a Pipeline Surveillance Support Personnel to join its team in Rivers State. The successful candidate will be responsible for collating and analyzing data, facilitating information sharing, and supporting interventions against crude oil theft-related activities. The role also involves database management, incident investigation, and use of advanced IT and geomatic tools to support security and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report directly to the Head of Availability and Right of Way (RoW) Management.
- Conduct data gathering, analysis, and maintain operational databases.
- Operate digital cameras, video systems, and infrared tools for surveillance.
- Support incident investigations and coordinate security intelligence.
- Generate technical reports, visual presentations, and trend analyses.
- Support physical asset verification (PAV) exercises.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, Pipeline RoW, and Security.
- Promote and comply with HSE standards (UA/UC Reporting, ILSR Awareness, Goal Zero).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field (B.Sc./B.A./HND).
- Minimum of 2 years in data management. Candidate should not have acrophobia or motion-related discomfort.
- Recent T-BOSIET or HUET certification.
- Professional certifications in data analytics, environmental health and safety, or engineering are an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of pipeline operations, incident investigation, and geomatic tools.
- Awareness of SPDC operations and pipeline Right of Ways (RoWs) across East and West assets.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Good relational skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders, including flight crews.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail.
