Job Description
KPMG Nigeria is inviting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Tax Technical Desk (TD) Manager. This role requires expertise in Nigerian and international tax laws, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to drive technical excellence, advocacy, and knowledge management within the Tax Division.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Research & Advisory
- Conduct in-depth research on Nigerian tax laws, treaties, case laws, circulars, and regulatory policies.
- Provide expert advisory support on complex tax issues to internal teams and clients.
- Monitor international tax developments (OECD, BEPS, Pillars 1 & 2) and assess implications for Nigeria.
Regulatory Updates, Publications & Thought Leadership
- Draft and review high-quality tax newsletters, technical alerts, and thought leadership materials.
- Maintain a tax knowledge repository with up-to-date resources.
- Position the firm as a leader in fiscal and tax policy discussions.
Training & Knowledge Management
- Design and deliver regular internal and external tax training sessions.
- Develop case studies, technical resources, and training materials for continuous professional development.
Advocacy & Policy Engagement
- Lead the firm’s advocacy initiatives with regulators, legislators, and professional bodies.
- Review and provide recommendations on draft tax laws and regulatory policies.
- Represent the firm at professional committees and consultations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of Second Class Upper bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Professional qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CITN, or equivalent.
- At least 9 years of tax experience, with 3+ years in tax technical, knowledge management, or training-related roles.
Proven experience in:
- Writing technical newsletters, alerts, or publications.
- Designing and delivering training programs.
- Tax advocacy and policy review.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation abilities.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
