Job Description
GTBank is seeking an experienced Branch Internal Auditor to join its dynamic team. The role involves risk-based auditing, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening internal controls across branches. The successful candidate will contribute to safeguarding the bank’s assets, ensuring transparency, and enhancing operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk-based audits and prepare audit plans and assessments.
- Identify internal control weaknesses and recommend corrective measures.
- Ensure compliance with CBN guidelines, BOFIA, NDIC, AML/CTF, and tax regulations.
- Prepare clear and concise audit reports.
- Engage with branch and senior staff effectively.
- Utilize audit tools, data analysis software, and Excel for reporting.
- Travel frequently to assigned branches across different regions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5–10 years’ post-NYSC experience in Internal Audit, Risk Management, Internal Control, or External Audit (preferably in banking/financial services).
- Professional certifications (ACA, ACCA, CIA, or CISA) are highly desirable.
- Master’s degree (MBA/M.Sc.) is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of risk-based auditing techniques, internal controls, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience in branch operations or control functions within a bank.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and audit management software.
- Hands-on experience with core banking systems (e.g., Finacle) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and communication skills.
- High integrity, confidentiality, and ability to work independently under pressure.
