Job Description
NESCO is seeking a qualified Maintenance Planning Engineer to oversee plant maintenance planning activities, optimize equipment performance, and ensure smooth plant operations. The role involves coordinating shutdowns, formulating maintenance strategies, and providing technical guidance for plant operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute short-term and long-term maintenance plans, including plant shutdowns.
- Supervise major and minor overhauls, inspections, and routine maintenance.
- Maximize plant uptime to minimize revenue loss during shutdowns.
- Contribute to annual and monthly operational planning.
- Establish plant maintenance policies and strategies aligned with operational goals.
- Ensure timely availability of tools, spare parts, and materials for maintenance tasks.
- Monitor plant equipment performance and maintain detailed records.
- Prepare and submit regular reports to the Head of Generation.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering OR HND with a COREN-accredited PGD plus Master’s in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Membership with COREN or other recognized professional engineering bodies.
- A Master’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Management is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 6 years of hands-on experience in engineering works (preferably in power generation plants), with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in hydropower plant operations, maintenance, refurbishment, or modernization is a strong advantage.
Key Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of modern maintenance management practices.
- Familiarity with material and resource planning for power plants.
- Understanding of safety standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Excellent planning, organization, and problem-solving skills.
