Job Description
The Accounting Intern will work closely with Mavin’s Finance Department to support the day-to-day accounting and financial management operations of the company. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in financial reporting, budget analysis, and audit support within Nigeria’s vibrant entertainment sector.
The ideal candidate is a driven and detail-oriented graduate seeking to build a strong foundation in accounting and finance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Record-Keeping
- Post and update financial records including journals, invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial transactions.
- Maintain accurate ledgers and reconcile accounts regularly.
Reporting & Analysis
- Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.
- Support budget preparation, expense tracking, and variance analysis.
- Contribute to financial data analysis to support decision-making processes.
Audit & Compliance
- Work with external auditors during audit exercises.
- Ensure adherence to internal control procedures and accounting standards.
Administrative Support
- Perform administrative duties as assigned within the finance department.
- Provide ad-hoc assistance to the Finance Manager and wider finance team.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Must be a current NYSC corps member.
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- High sense of integrity, responsibility, and attention to detail.
