Job Description
The Cashier will be responsible for managing financial transactions efficiently and accurately while ensuring compliance with hotel financial policies. The role involves handling guest billing, payment processing, and reconciliation of cash drawers while maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage guest check-ins and check-outs, including billing and payment processing.
- Handle cash, debit, credit, and other payment methods accurately.
- Issue receipts, invoices, and refunds as needed.
- Balance and reconcile cash drawers at the start and end of each shift.
- Prepare daily cashier reports and assist in deposit documentation.
- Address guest inquiries about charges and billing issues.
- Collaborate with front office and food & beverage teams on guest accounts.
- Ensure adherence to internal financial controls and fraud prevention policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial and guest information.
- Provide courteous, professional customer service at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc./HND) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a cashier, teller, or in a finance-related role (experience in the hospitality industry preferred).
- Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with POS systems, hotel management software (Opera, Micros), and Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Must be willing to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
