Job Description
Andersen Nigeria is seeking a qualified Account Officer to join its Finance and Accounts team. The ideal candidate will support financial reporting, maintain accurate accounting records, and contribute to effective cash flow management while ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage accounting records (AP, AR, and general ledger)
- Reconcile bank statements, vendor accounts, and financial records
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Monitor cash flow and follow up on outstanding payments
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT, WHT, income tax)
- Process expense requests and retirements via the Expense Management System (EMS)
- Assist with budgeting, audits, and financial planning
- Resolve accounting discrepancies promptly
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of Second Class Lower from a recognized institution
- Professional certification (ICAN or ACCA) is an added advantage
Experience:
- Minimum of 2–3 years relevant work experience in accounting or finance
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Good understanding of financial reporting and tax regulations
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
