Job Description
Jeroid Limited is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented In-House Legal Intern to support its Legal and Compliance team. The successful candidate will gain practical experience in fintech law, regulatory compliance, contract management, and corporate legal operations while contributing to the legal and compliance functions across the company’s business units.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
- Support the preparation, organization, and management of legal records and documentation
- Conduct legal research on regulatory, compliance, and business-related matters
- Monitor and track regulatory developments affecting fintech operations
- Assist with compliance reviews and internal control processes
- Draft basic legal correspondence, reports, and internal memoranda
- Maintain legal registers, filing systems, and documentation databases
- Support due diligence exercises and compliance investigations where required
- Liaise with external legal counsel when necessary
- Provide administrative support to the Legal and Compliance department
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Law or a related discipline (preferred)
- Strong interest in corporate law, fintech, regulatory compliance, or corporate governance
Skills and Competencies
- Strong legal research and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Good organizational and documentation skills
- High attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Basic understanding of legal documentation and compliance processes is an advantage
- Eagerness to learn and develop within a fast-paced fintech environment
