Job Description

Mainland Group Limited is seeking a Documentation Officer Graduate Trainee to support its import and logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing import documentation, ensuring regulatory compliance, coordinating with relevant stakeholders, and facilitating smooth customs clearance processes.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for graduates and early-career professionals seeking to build a career in shipping, logistics, and international trade documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process import documentation, including Form M, PAAR, SONCAP, NAFDAC, and other regulatory documents
  • Liaise with shipping companies, clearing agents, customs authorities, and regulatory agencies
  • Track shipments and monitor cargo arrival schedules
  • Ensure all documentation required for customs clearance is accurate and complete
  • Maintain organized records of import transactions and shipping activities
  • Identify and resolve documentation discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Support compliance with import regulations and customs procedures
  • Assist in ensuring smooth cargo movement and clearance operations

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in:
    • Shipping and Logistics
    • Business Administration
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Related disciplines

Experience Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in import documentation or a related role

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian Customs procedures and import regulations
  • Understanding of Form M, PAAR, SONCAP, NAFDAC, and customs documentation processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Good record management and documentation skills

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
