Job Description
R-DATS Consulting is seeking a data-driven NYSC corps member to join its research and evaluation team as a Demography Graduate Intern. The role focuses on supporting data collection, statistical analysis, research implementation, and reporting across development and policy-related projects.
The intern will gain hands-on experience in survey design, data management, statistical analysis, and monitoring and evaluation (M&E) in a professional research environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation of research, monitoring, and evaluation projects.
- Assist in designing data collection tools and analysis plans.
- Support data collection, entry, cleaning, validation, and quality control processes.
- Conduct basic statistical analysis and create data visualizations.
- Assist in drafting reports, case studies, and dissemination materials.
- Contribute to research planning and project execution activities.
- Work with datasets from surveys and national sources (e.g., DHS, MICS).
- Perform any other research-related duties assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Demography, Statistics, Economics, Sociology, Public Health, or related quantitative field.
- Must be a serving NYSC corps member (preferably deployed or willing to redeploy to Abuja).
- Proven experience using Stata or SPSS for data analysis.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is an advantage.
- Experience in research or monitoring & evaluation is an added advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
