Job Description
eHealth4everyone is seeking a DevOps Intern (NYSC) to join its technology team in Abuja. This internship provides an excellent opportunity for serving NYSC Corps Members to gain practical experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, automation, and software deployment.
The successful candidate will collaborate with software developers and IT professionals to support application deployment, automate operational processes, monitor system performance, and maintain reliable production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy software updates, patches, and application fixes.
- Promote and implement DevOps best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Monitor production systems, identify issues, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Automate operational processes to improve efficiency, speed, and reliability.
- Develop tools that minimize errors and enhance user experience.
- Build and deploy software integrations with internal backend systems.
- Perform root cause analysis for production incidents and maintain incident documentation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across staging and production environments.
- Develop automation scripts for database backups, application deployment, and system maintenance.
- Design and implement troubleshooting procedures and maintenance processes.
- Continuously monitor system performance and recommend optimization strategies.
- Develop real-time monitoring solutions to improve system visibility and operational performance.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should possess the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Currently serving as an NYSC Corps Member.
- Knowledge of relational database administration, systems integration, capacity management, availability management, and system security.
- Strong understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems, including shell scripting.
- At least six months of technical experience working with cloud technologies.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is an added advantage.
- Understanding of load balancing technologies and IT service management concepts.
- Experience using version control systems such as Git.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar platforms.
- Experience with automation tools including Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
- Knowledge of deploying web applications built with Python, Vue.js, and Node.js.
- Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of DNS, networking concepts, and high-availability solutions.
- Experience working with Linux web servers such as Nginx and Apache2, including SSL configuration and load balancing.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Experience using automation tools for deployment, backup, restoration, and monitoring.
- Strong teamwork, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Customer-focused mindset with excellent collaboration abilities.
