Job Description
Tongston Entrepreneurship Group is seeking a Research & Intelligence Graduate Officer to join its Data Team on a remote contract basis. This role is designed for analytical and research-oriented graduates who are passionate about transforming complex information into actionable business intelligence.
The successful candidate will conduct market, regulatory, policy, competitor, stakeholder, and economic research, translating findings into strategic recommendations that support product development, business growth, compliance, and organizational decision-making across Tongston’s various business units.
Key Responsibilities
Research Strategy & Intelligence
- Develop research plans, hypotheses, and evidence-based frameworks for strategic decision-making.
- Design research workflows, templates, trackers, and quality assurance processes.
- Monitor emerging trends in markets, technology, AI governance, regulations, funding, and entrepreneurship.
- Identify risks, opportunities, and strategic recommendations for management.
Research & Data Analysis
- Conduct market, policy, competitor, customer, and stakeholder research using credible data sources.
- Gather, validate, clean, organize, and synthesize research data.
- Produce management reports, intelligence briefs, market scans, competitor analyses, dashboards, and presentation materials.
- Maintain research repositories, evidence logs, source documentation, and decision trackers.
- Utilize tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI, Looker Studio, and presentation software to communicate insights.
Business Intelligence & Decision Support
- Translate research findings into actionable recommendations with clear priorities, timelines, and expected outcomes.
- Present intelligence reports to management and cross-functional teams.
- Prepare periodic intelligence reports highlighting regulatory, market, funding, customer, and operational developments.
- Guide junior researchers and AI-assisted research workflows while ensuring quality and source verification.
- Escalate issues involving outdated, conflicting, or sensitive information.
Cross-Functional Support
Provide research insights that support departments including:

Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree, HND, ND, Diploma, Postgraduate Certificate, or equivalent practical experience in:

- Or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum of 12 months of relevant experience through employment, internships, fellowships, consulting, research, analytics, policy, business intelligence, or project work.
- Experience producing research reports, dashboards, analytical briefs, or market intelligence is an advantage but not mandatory.
Technical Skills
- Strong research design and source evaluation skills.
- Experience using government databases, policy documents, academic publications, and reputable research sources.
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Excel
- Google Sheets
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Google Slides
- Ability to prepare dashboards, charts, reports, trackers, and presentation materials.
- Excellent analytical writing and report synthesis skills.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted research tools is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio, or SQL concepts is desirable.
