Job Description
Anchor HMO is recruiting a Provider Liaison Officer to support its healthcare provider network in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers. The role involves monitoring provider compliance, conducting facility visits, resolving operational and billing issues, supporting quality assurance, and ensuring efficient service delivery across the region.
The ideal candidate should have strong communication, negotiation, analytical, leadership, and relationship-management abilities, with an understanding of Nigeria’s health insurance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provider Relationship Management
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers.
- Serve as a key point of contact between Anchor HMO and its healthcare provider network.
- Maintain effective communication with providers to support smooth service delivery.
- Address provider concerns and ensure timely resolution of operational issues.
Provider Network Monitoring
- Conduct regular visits to healthcare facilities within the assigned region.
- Monitor provider compliance with Anchor HMO’s operational guidelines and quality standards.
- Identify service delivery gaps and recommend appropriate corrective measures.
- Support the maintenance of quality healthcare services across the provider network.
Conflict & Issue Resolution
- Act as a primary liaison for resolving provider-related disputes and complaints.
- Investigate billing discrepancies and work with relevant stakeholders to resolve them.
- Facilitate communication between healthcare providers and the HMO when operational challenges arise.
- Escalate complex issues when necessary and follow through to resolution.
Quality & Compliance
- Monitor healthcare providers’ adherence to agreed standards and requirements.
- Support quality assurance initiatives across the provider network.
- Ensure providers comply with applicable healthcare and insurance requirements.
- Identify potential risks and recommend improvements to provider operations.
Client & Service Management
- Support efforts to maintain high levels of client satisfaction.
- Handle provider and client-related complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Build relationships that contribute to improved healthcare service experiences.
- Support the delivery of efficient healthcare services across the assigned region.
Operational & Financial Performance
- Contribute to improved operational efficiency within the assigned provider network.
- Monitor provider-related activities that may affect financial performance.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving service quality while maintaining operational efficiency.
- Provide relevant reports and insights to management as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/B.Sc.) or HND from a recognised institution.
- A postgraduate qualification such as an MBA, MSc, or MA may be an advantage.
- 2–3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Experience in healthcare, HMO operations, provider management, customer success, administration, or a related field is beneficial.
- Strong relationship-management and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Good understanding of Nigeria’s health insurance schemes and healthcare environment.
- Ability to conduct field visits and work effectively with healthcare providers.
- HMO experience is an added advantage.
