Job Description
Mitiget Assurance and Technology Services Limited is seeking a creative and detail-oriented UI Design Intern to join its design team in Ikeja, Lagos.
The successful candidate will support the development of intuitive, visually appealing, and user-friendly digital interfaces while gaining practical experience in UI/UX design within a professional technology environment.
This internship is suitable for candidates who have a strong interest in digital product design, understand basic UI/UX principles, and are eager to develop their design skills through hands-on experience and collaboration with experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design of interfaces for websites, web applications, and mobile applications.
- Develop wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, and high-fidelity interface designs.
- Convert design briefs and user requirements into functional and visually engaging interfaces.
- Collaborate with developers and other team members to support accurate implementation of designs.
- Maintain consistency across typography, colours, spacing, layouts, components, and other visual elements.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of design systems and reusable UI components.
- Participate in design reviews and make improvements based on feedback.
- Support basic user research and usability assessments.
- Identify opportunities to improve the usability and visual appeal of digital products.
- Keep up with emerging UI/UX trends, design tools, and industry best practices.
- Perform other design-related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Currently studying or recently graduated in Graphic Design, UI/UX Design, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX design principles.
- Familiarity with design applications such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or similar tools.
- Understanding of typography, colour theory, layout, spacing, and visual hierarchy.
- Basic knowledge of responsive and mobile-first design principles.
- Strong attention to detail and good visual sense.
- Ability to work effectively with others and accept constructive feedback.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop professionally.
Preferred Skills
- Basic knowledge of user experience and usability principles.
- Experience creating interactive prototypes.
- Familiarity with design systems and UI component libraries.
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is an advantage.
- A portfolio showcasing personal, academic, or previous design projects is an added advantage.
