A renewable energy infrastructure developer is seeking a high-impact CEO to lead commercial strategy, investor relations, and large-scale energy deals across Nigeria.
This is a deal-driven leadership role with a clear mandate: build and close a ≥40MW commercial pipeline within the first year.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
⚡ Commercial Leadership
▪️ Build and close ≥40MW pipeline targeting C&I clients, DISCOs, and government
▪️ Negotiate and execute anchor Power Purchase Agreements (10–20MW)
▪️ Drive nationwide market penetration and partnerships
💼 Investor & DFI Engagement
▪️ Develop relationships with institutions like International Finance Corporation, African Development Bank, FMO, and World Bank Group
▪️ Lead $1–2M Series A fundraising
▪️ Drive DFI-backed project financing ($10–15M)
🏗 Project & Infrastructure Development
▪️ Oversee Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission licensing
▪️ Execute land acquisition and solar feasibility studies
▪️ Structure SPVs and ensure bankable project frameworks
📊 Financial Stewardship
▪️ Maintain OPEX discipline and financial efficiency
▪️ Ensure minimum 25% gross margin across contracts
Qualifications & Requirements
✔️ Degree in Engineering + MBA
✔️ Member of Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria
✔️ Minimum 10 years leadership experience
✔️ At least 5 years at Director/MD/CEO level
✔️ Proven track record of closing major energy/infrastructure deals
✔️ Hands-on experience with DFIs and project financing
✔️ Deep knowledge of Nigeria’s power sector & regulations
⭐ Strongly Preferred
▪️ Former CEO/MD/Founder of a company with ₦500M+ annual revenue
▪️ Direct experience securing NERC licensing approvals
