Job Description
Foodco Limited is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join its Finance Leadership Development Programme. This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates and early-career finance professionals who are eager to build practical experience in accounting, financial analysis, auditing, budgeting, and financial reporting within a dynamic retail organization.
The successful candidate will receive structured on-the-job training while working alongside experienced finance and audit professionals to develop both technical expertise and professional skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain practical knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting, and audit processes.
- Assist in evaluating product and branch profitability through financial analysis.
- Support risk assessment and risk maturity evaluations.
- Learn to develop and implement internal audit strategies.
- Participate in risk-based and independent audit activities.
- Work closely with finance managers and supervisors to develop technical and leadership competencies.
- Assist in preparing management accounting reports for business decision-making.
- Perform data entry, financial record maintenance, and document filing.
- Support financial data compilation and analysis for internal and external audits.
- Assist with departmental budget preparation.
- Learn and utilize relevant accounting and financial software applications.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of Second Class Lower or equivalent academic qualification.
- 0–2 years of post-NYSC experience.
- Maximum age of 27 years.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles.
- Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking and data interpretation skills.
- Experience using spreadsheets, databases, and financial software is desirable.
- Student membership of ICAN, ACCA, or CFA will be considered an added advantage.
