Job Description
African Industries Group (AIG) is seeking highly motivated and innovative graduates to join its Graduate Engineer Trainee Programme. The programme is designed to equip fresh engineering graduates with practical experience, technical training, and professional competencies required to build successful careers in engineering and industrial operations.
Successful candidates will gain exposure to engineering processes, maintenance activities, project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives within a structured learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in the company’s graduate engineering development programme.
- Support engineering and operational activities across assigned departments.
- Monitor equipment performance and contribute to improving operational efficiency.
- Assist with preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Support materials inspection, testing, evaluation, and quality control processes.
- Prepare technical reports, records, and engineering documentation.
- Participate in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on assigned engineering projects.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in:
- Mechanical Engineering
- Metallurgical and Materials Engineering
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 0–2 years of relevant work experience.
Skills and Competencies
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and materials engineering principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of CAD software, maintenance systems, process engineering, or materials analysis tools is an added advantage.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new environments.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
- High level of initiative and commitment to professional growth.
