Job Description

Corona Schools is seeking a qualified and passionate ICT Teacher to join its secondary school team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging ICT lessons, managing the ICT laboratory, assessing students’ performance, and promoting digital literacy and responsible technology use among students.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging ICT lessons in line with the school’s curriculum.
  • Teach computer fundamentals, coding, digital literacy, internet safety, multimedia applications, and emerging technologies.
  • Use diverse teaching strategies and educational technologies to improve learning outcomes.
  • Encourage creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Assessment and Reporting

  • Prepare and administer assignments, projects, tests, and examinations.
  • Monitor and evaluate students’ academic performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance.
  • Provide feedback to students and communicate progress with parents and school management.

Classroom Management

  • Maintain a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Manage student behaviour according to school policies.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of ICT equipment and resources.

ICT Laboratory Management

  • Supervise activities in the ICT laboratory.
  • Ensure appropriate use of computers, software, and peripheral devices.
  • Report technical issues and collaborate with the ICT support team.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of ICT equipment.

Curriculum Development

  • Contribute to the development of lesson plans and instructional materials.
  • Integrate innovative educational technologies into teaching.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and curriculum planning sessions.

Professional Development

  • Participate in workshops, staff meetings, and professional training programmes.
  • Share best practices with colleagues to improve teaching standards.

Safeguarding and Compliance

  • Uphold child protection, health, and safety policies.
  • Promote responsible digital citizenship and online safety.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Education Technology, or a related field.
  • Teaching qualification such as PGDE, B.Ed., or TRCN certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of teaching experience in ICT or Computer Studies.
  • Previous experience teaching in a primary or secondary school setting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Strong knowledge of educational technology and digital learning tools.
