1. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer
Job Description
To support FMN’s HSE commitment by ensuring compliance with safety standards, promoting proactive risk management, and maintaining a safe, sustainable work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and communicate HSE management systems in line with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 standards.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify hazards, unsafe acts, and environmental risks.
- Supervise waste disposal and ensure compliance with environmental standards.
- Promote HSE awareness through toolbox talks, pep talks, and training sessions.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, identify root causes, and recommend preventive actions.
- Monitor use of PPE, oversee pest control, and maintain emergency preparedness.
- Maintain safety documentation and records for audits and compliance reviews.
Qualifications & Requirements
- B.Sc. or HND in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
- HSE Level 3 qualification (minimum).
- NEBOSH certification or other professional HSE qualifications is an added advantage.
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within manufacturing or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of national HSE legislation and ISO standards.
- Excellent communication and training delivery skills.
2. Mechanical Manager
Job Description
To ensure all machinery is installed, maintained, and operating at optimal capacity while minimizing downtime and supporting FMN’s production efficiency goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate maintenance supervisors and address production-related issues.
- Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules for packing sections.
- Supervise calibration, servicing, and repairs of packaging machinery and plant equipment.
- Review shift reports to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Manage spare parts inventory and verify contractors’ job quality before acceptance.
- Train and develop team members for technical competence.
- Drive initiatives to improve machine reliability, OEE, and reduce MTTR.
Qualifications & Requirements
- HND or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (minimum).
- Professional membership with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) required.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity within the manufacturing sector.
- Proficiency in CMMS/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, D365) and maintenance planning.
- Additional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Lean/WCM practices are advantageous.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and project management skills.
