Job Description

Worknigeria is recruiting a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Engineer (Entry-Level / Fresh Graduate) to join its team in Lagos. The successful candidate will support structural engineering projects by utilizing advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, cost estimation, and project tracking while assisting with basic engineering and site-related activities.

This role is ideal for recent graduates seeking practical experience in structural engineering, project coordination, and construction data management.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Excel-based models for structural loads, material quantities, project schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Utilize advanced Excel functions such as VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, PivotTables, SUMIFS, charts, and data validation tools to analyze project data.
  • Prepare automated reports including:
    • Bill of Quantities (BOQ) summaries
    • Material take-offs
    • Progress tracking reports
  • Assist with structural calculations and engineering documentation.
  • Support the preparation and review of shop drawings and as-built documents.
  • Participate in site visits to collect measurements, observations, and project data.
  • Update project tracking sheets and reporting dashboards.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project teams.
  • Maintain quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) records.
  • Manage project registers and version-controlled documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Qualification

  • HND, B.Eng, or B.Tech in:
    • Civil Engineering
    • Structural Engineering

Mandatory Requirements

  • Completed NYSC with a valid discharge certificate or possess an exemption certificate.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
    • VLOOKUP / XLOOKUP
    • PivotTables
    • SUMIFS
    • Data Validation
    • Charts and Reporting
  • Strong analytical and data management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and reporting abilities.
  • Availability to work onsite in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to AutoCAD.
  • Basic knowledge of structural analysis and design software.
  • Understanding of construction documentation and engineering workflows.
