Job Description

Arkbridge Integrated Plc is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer (NYSC Intern) to join its construction team. The successful candidate will support structural design, analysis, site operations, inspections, and construction activities under the supervision of experienced engineers.

This opportunity is suitable for recent Civil or Structural Engineering graduates currently serving under the NYSC programme who are interested in gaining practical experience in structural engineering and construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist structural engineers with the design and analysis of reinforced concrete, steel, and other structural elements.
  • Support the preparation and review of structural drawings, calculations, schedules, and technical documents.
  • Participate in site inspections to monitor structural works and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Support reinforcement, formwork, concrete, steelwork, and other construction activities.
  • Take measurements and assist with quantity take-offs and material estimates.
  • Identify and report structural defects, construction discrepancies, and quality issues.
  • Participate in site meetings and coordinate with architects, contractors, foremen, and project team members.
  • Assist in ensuring construction activities comply with engineering standards, safety requirements, and project specifications.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspections, measurements, and technical observations.
  • Perform other engineering-related duties assigned by the supervising engineer or project manager.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Recent graduate currently serving under the NYSC programme.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of structural engineering principles and construction practices.
  • Familiarity with structural drawings and construction documentation.
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAFE, Revit, or similar engineering software is an advantage.
  • Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on construction sites.
  • Commitment to health and safety practices.
  • Proactive attitude, reliability, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
