Job Description
UNICEF is inviting applications from qualified Nigerian students for its Graduate Internship Programme 2026, specifically within the Social Policy Section.
This internship provides hands-on experience in programme implementation, data analysis, social protection systems, public finance, and governance support. Interns will work closely with UNICEF teams and government partners to support policy development and programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of reports and data-driven policy documents
- Assist in monitoring and evaluating social protection programmes
- Help coordinate technical support for social policy, governance, and public finance initiatives
- Contribute to programme planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Collect, analyse, and present data for decision-making and reporting
- Ensure data quality and compliance with programme standards
- Support scheduling and coordination of stakeholder meetings
- Provide logistical and administrative support to programme teams
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the supervising team
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a current Nigerian university student (200 level or above)
- Studying Social Sciences, Public Administration, Public Policy, or related fields
- Strong academic performance required (transcripts or academic reference needed)
Skills & Competencies:
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Good report writing and communication skills
- Ability to handle data collection and analysis
- Strong organisational and teamwork skills
Experience:
- No prior work experience required
- Previous internship or programme support experience is an added advantage
Language:
- Fluency in English is required
- Knowledge of a local or UN language is an added advantage
Additional Conditions:
- Applicants must not have immediate family members working within UNICEF reporting lines
- Interns are not considered UNICEF staff and cannot represent the organisation officially
