Job Description
The Logistics Officer (CBT – Retailer Management) will support the efficient planning, coordination, and implementation of logistics activities, particularly within Cash-Based Transfer (CBT) and e-voucher operations. The role involves supervising teams, managing retailer engagement, conducting assessments, and ensuring compliance with WFP standards, emergency response structures, and operational guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the CBT/Retailer Management team to ensure cohesive and effective operations.
- Plan, monitor, and coordinate monthly e-voucher redemption cycles in line with WFP corporate guidelines.
- Oversee contractual processes with retailers to ensure compliance and efficiency.
- Support emergency response readiness and rapid intervention delivery.
- Conduct micro/macro assessments and coordinate Retailer Onboarding and Contracting (ROC).
- Contribute to logistics planning, policy compliance, and process improvements.
- Collect and analyze operational data to recommend performance-enhancing actions.
- Conduct financial and budget analysis, providing insights for better fund utilization.
- Guide and support logistics staff, responding to queries and providing mentorship.
- Prepare and contribute to periodic reports and documentation for decision-making.
- Support capacity-building initiatives for WFP staff and partners.
- Build strong working relationships with logistics teams and stakeholders.
- Implement emergency logistics preparedness practices.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Advanced university degree in Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Management, or related field OR First degree with additional relevant work experience or training.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional managerial experience in logistics or related fields.
- Field-level operational experience in logistics or humanitarian supply chains.
- Experience coordinating service provider contracts.
- Experience managing supplier deliveries and logistics operations (rail, air, or sea).
- Experience evaluating bids, preparing proposals, and writing detailed reports.
