Job Description

UNICEF is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Associate to support HR data management, analytics, systems, and operational processes in the Nigeria Country Office.

Working under the supervision of the Human Resource Officer, the role involves supporting HR business partnering, managing HR data and dashboards, facilitating benefits and entitlements processing, and supporting learning and capacity development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

HR Business Partnering Support

  • Assist HR Business Partners in employee engagement, well-being, and recognition initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to staff on using HR systems such as Talent Management, Agora, and Achieve.
  • Support HR process changes and help drive smooth implementation.

HR Data Analytics & Systems

  • Collect, compile, and analyze HR data including workforce demographics, recruitment metrics, retention, and performance indicators.
  • Develop and maintain HR dashboards and generate regular HR reports.
  • Prepare analytics for internal reporting and strategic decision-making.

Entitlements & Benefits Processing

  • Research and verify data to support consistent application of HR rules and regulations.
  • Respond to queries related to staff benefits and entitlements.
  • Initiate personnel actions in line with UNICEF HR procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files and records.

Learning & Capacity Development Support

  • Research external training opportunities and support learning programme planning.
  • Assist in organizing training sessions, workshops, and capacity-building events.
  • Prepare materials, coordinate logistics, and support contracting educational institutions.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Computer Science/Engineering, or related field with minimum 3 years relevant experience. OR
  • Completion of secondary education plus 6 years of progressively responsible HR experience.
  • Strong proficiency in HR data analytics tools (Power BI, SQL, SAP BO, Tableau, Excel, etc.) – mandatory.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Experience working in developing countries or emergency contexts is an added advantage.

Technical Skills

  • Solid data analysis and data management capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of HR rules, regulations, and UN HR procedures.
  • Ability to extract, format, and interpret HR data.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Language Requirement

  • Fluency in English (required).
  • Knowledge of another UN language or local language is an asset.
