Job Description
Rainoil Limited is currently recruiting for the position of ESG & Sustainability Supervisor in Lagos.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving sustainability initiatives across the organization.
This role requires strong analytical ability, leadership skills, and deep knowledge of environmental and sustainability frameworks within the oil and gas industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement ESG strategies aligned with global sustainability standards
- Manage greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions
- Oversee sustainability reporting in line with IFRS S1 & S2, SASB, and other regulatory frameworks
- Ensure compliance with environmental standards such as ISO 14001 and related regulations
- Drive internal sustainability awareness and culture across the organization
- Engage with regulators, stakeholders, and external partners on ESG matters
- Conduct ESG data analysis to support decision-making and reporting
- Assess sustainability investments, carbon impact, and compliance with IFC standards
- Support environmental monitoring and sustainability performance tracking
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field
- MSc in ESG, Sustainability, or related discipline is an added advantage
Experience:
- 4–5 years of relevant work experience in environmental or sustainability roles
- At least 1–2 years in a supervisory or leadership position
- Experience in oil & gas, consulting, or sustainability reporting is preferred
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of ESG frameworks and climate-related reporting standards
- Knowledge of sustainability reporting systems and environmental compliance tools
- Strong data analysis and reporting skills
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability governance systems
