Job Description

The Analyst, Database Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization’s database systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.

The role involves working across multiple database platforms and collaborating with internal teams to support critical business applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Monitor database performance, capacity, and availability
  • Perform routine maintenance such as patching, indexing, and system optimization
  • Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies
  • Ensure database security, access control, and compliance with data protection standards
  • Analyze SQL queries and optimize database performance
  • Provide technical support and resolve database-related issues
  • Collaborate with DevOps, infrastructure, and application teams
  • Maintain documentation and prepare performance reports

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field
  • Proven experience in database administration (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts
  • Experience with backup/recovery, performance tuning, and monitoring tools
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix and Windows Server environments
  • Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Experience with high-availability systems

Preferred Certifications (Optional):

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
  • Microsoft SQL Server Certification
  • MySQL or PostgreSQL certification
  • ITIL framework knowledge

Soft Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Attention to detail and data integrity
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
