Job Description

The Place is recruiting a Graduate Procurement Executive to support procurement operations for its outstation locations. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing quality suppliers, negotiating competitive prices, processing procurement requests, and ensuring the timely purchase of food and non-food items.

This role requires regular travel to farms, local markets, and supplier locations to identify cost-effective sourcing opportunities while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and ensuring compliance with company procurement standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify agricultural produce and other items that can be sourced more cost-effectively from outstation locations.
  • Conduct market research to identify reliable suppliers and vendor hubs for food and non-food products.
  • Evaluate, onboard, and maintain qualified vendors in line with company procurement policies.
  • Process Purchase Requests (PRs) and Purchase Orders (POs) using the organization’s ERP system.
  • Monitor market prices and procurement trends, providing regular updates to the Procurement Manager.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and coordinate with warehouse, inventory, and finance teams.
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality, timely delivery, and competitive pricing.
  • Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and vendor performance.

Qualifications & Requirements

Applicants should possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) degree.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or vendor management.
  • Experience working with vendors in local and rural markets will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365, is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly for procurement and vendor management activities.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates who:

  • Are familiar with the culture and business environment of Northern Nigeria.
  • Are indigenous to any Northern Nigerian state or have extensive experience working in the region.
  • Can communicate effectively in Hausa.
