Job Description
Access Heart Foundation is seeking a creative and passionate Communication & Storytelling Intern to join its team in Lagos. The successful candidate will help shape the Foundation’s public narrative by managing communications, social media, patient storytelling projects, events, and media engagement.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about storytelling, digital communications, public health advocacy, and using compelling content to drive social impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the Foundation’s social media platforms by creating, scheduling, and publishing engaging content.
- Lead the patient storytelling initiative by coordinating the production of documentary films and managing pre-production and post-production activities.
- Plan and coordinate organizational events, stakeholder engagements, and community outreach activities.
- Write and edit newsletters, press releases, donor communications, website content, and social media materials.
- Maintain consistent branding and communication standards across all digital and print materials.
- Collaborate with the Partnerships Manager to develop fundraising materials aligned with the Foundation’s storytelling strategy.
- Build and maintain relationships with media organizations to support press coverage.
- Update and manage the Foundation’s website to ensure accurate and current information.
- Support other communication and advocacy initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Experience managing social media accounts and implementing content strategies.
- Experience coordinating events, media productions, or documentary projects.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent software.
- Strong visual communication and branding skills.
- A genuine interest in healthcare, nonprofit work, social impact, or public advocacy.
- Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
