Job Description
Smartflow Technologies Limited is seeking a qualified Calibration Engineer to join its team in Abuja. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out calibration activities, ensuring the accuracy of measuring instruments, maintaining compliance with quality management standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
This position is ideal for candidates with technical knowledge of instrumentation, calibration procedures, and engineering operations, particularly within the petroleum or industrial sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform calibration of instruments, including flow meters and underground/above-ground liquid storage tanks.
- Set up, verify, and document calibration exercises in line with established quality standards.
- Develop and implement standardized calibration procedures across the organization.
- Maintain and update calibration-related processes and documentation.
- Assess, analyze, and optimize calibration procedures to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround time.
- Collaborate with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team to investigate incidents, near misses, and workplace accidents.
- Ensure calibration activities comply with relevant quality and safety standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should possess the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 0–1 year of practical experience in calibration, instrumentation, or a similar engineering role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Good understanding of calibration procedures and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to engineering operations.
Added Advantage
Candidates with any of the following will have an added advantage:
- Previous experience in the petroleum industry.
- Knowledge of tank cleaning operations and calibration services.
- Ability to perform non-entry tank cleaning with minimal supervision.
- Understanding of petrol station piping systems.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Standards.
