Job Description

Sunbeth Shipping Limited is seeking a skilled HSE Officer to lead and manage health, safety, and environmental practices across its transport and shipping operations. The role involves ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, improving safety systems, and driving a strong safety culture across all operational units.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing and implementing HSE policies, strategies, and performance targets
  • Leading HSE activities across transport, marine operations, and logistics facilities
  • Ensuring compliance with local and international regulations (IMO, OSHA, ILO, etc.)
  • Conducting risk assessments and implementing hazard control measures
  • Leading incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Organizing safety training programs and promoting safety culture initiatives
  • Managing emergency preparedness and crisis response plans
  • Overseeing fleet and vessel safety operations
  • Driving environmental management and sustainability practices
  • Maintaining HSE documentation and reporting performance metrics

Qualifications & Requirements

Professional & Educational Requirements

  • Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH IGC/IDip, IOSH, OSHA 30, ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor, IEMA, or equivalent
  • Additional maritime certifications (e.g., ISM, STCW) are an added advantage

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ progressive HSE experience
  • At least 1 year experience in transport, logistics, haulage, or maritime industry
  • Proven experience managing HSE teams and multi-site operations
